an answer to the question: raising a competitor?

Nurturing and helping someone else achieve their goals is not something I think of as increasing competition, but as ‘giving back.’ We all started someplace. It is an obligation, as an artist, or as anyone else for that matter, to help those coming up through the ranks. There will always be competition. We will never reduce it. Isn’t it better for us all that the competition is knowledgeable and capable? It raises everyone’s level of accomplishment. Art is a personal endeavor. If we are honest with ourselves and maintain complete integrity in our work, we will have no competition – in the best sense of the word. Our business will blossom because we are integral to our work and no one can take that away.
